America after World War 2 was great. We were known as the strongest nation in the world and we still are except for the dangers of our changing nation. The economy was at its strongest point. We had so much money in surplus and the people were very different than today. Today, soldiers are spit on and are looked at as nothing. Back in the good ol' days, the soldiers were respected when they came back home and welcoming parties happened in every major city and minor cities. It was also an honor to be a soldier and we were all proud Americans. That's a good thing. Another thing is that people actually had class back then and everybody worked for their hard-earned share. You didn't see people walking around with their pants hanging off. Don't they have respect for themselves ???? People wore luxury suits and luxurious hats. And not a whole lot of people were lazy and were on welfare. There was respect for the elderly, respect for your parents, and respect for God. You see, times have definitely changed. And as I see it, we are headed down the drain. Nowadays, almost every song out there on the radio that kids could hear, has something to do with gang-shootings, violence, drugs, money and sex. Back in the good old days, the music was extremely better, people could actually sing, and the artists were all respectable. Today's musical influences are bad. Recent issues such as a mosque being built in front of 9/11 would not of had happened back then. That's because we were all smart and not liberally-socialist. To all you socialists, think about how socialism failed. Look at Nazi Germany, The Soviet Union, Italy, and countries like that. You know I'm right, you just can't admit it. Back then, American products were American, the cars were American, everything was American. Now everything is being made in China, Bangladesh, Mexico and so many other countries, I can't name em all. The foreigner companies are hiring us. We used to hire them !!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did post-war America change. Why are so many people illegal and on welfare??? Why are so many people liberal-socialist?????? You see, post war America was great, but now, we are failing. Morale has gone down. People have gone down (in class). To all our boys in Afghanistan, Iraq and to all you veterans of WW2, Korean War, Vietnam and all you conflict soldiers, thanks. The boys from WW2 fought for us and to preserve the American way of life and they did it, for a short period of time (1945-1960). With the way we are living today, it is a smack in the face to all WW2 veterans out there. So think smartly and live like post-war America. I am a Conservative, right-wing, American loving person, and thats why I consider myself a true-American patriot. God Bless America and may the eagle soar high. I would like to hear some opinions from both sides of the debate. @the one. You don't know what you're talking about, ok. After the time period which was preserved for only such little time came the bad. From 1950-1960, it was excellent. From 1960-right now, there has been an increase of anti-Americans in America, liberal-socialists and so much that destroyed what the boys from WW2 did for us. Now, people are so not informed of being American it's not funny. Liberal hippies in the 1960s transformed into yuppie college students who influenced others to become liberal anti-americans.
